This program is 10 months in length and is offered both full-time and part-time. A Certificate of Program Completion is awarded upon successful completion of the program. Courses may also be transfered to Grant MacEwan College on an individual basis.

What you need to get in to the Teacher Assistant at Northern Lakes College?
Academic Requirements: Credit in English 30-1 (English 30) or 60% in English 30-2 (English 33), and credit in Applied and/or Pure Math 10 or 65% in Math 24 or Math Preparation 10 or GED for the Math and English requirements as long as the GED scores equate to Grade 12 English and Grade 10 Math. Note: Students without the academic pre-requirements may be accepted if they successfully complete a Skills Appraisal Assessment. Other Pre-requisites: A Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector); fluency in English. Note: Practicum agencies may require a Criminal Record Check and an Alberta Child and Youth Information Systems Check of students placed in their organizations. The inability to present clear checks may mean a student may not be able to complete the requirements of the program. Contact the program coordinator for further information.
