See http://www.nait.ca/program_home_34403.htm Diploma to Degree Admission or Transfer: Given NAIT's commitment to flexible learning pathways, there are a number of opportunities for diploma students to enter the degree program. A business diploma student can enter the degree program after successfully completing the first year of the diploma with a GPA of 2.3 (minimum competitive average). A business diploma student can apply for admittance to the degree program after successfully completing the diploma program with a GPA of 2.3 (minimum competitive average). For applicants who do not meet the standard admission criteria, admittance may be earned through and evaluation of an applicant's work experience and resume by the Program Chair. As part of NAIT's flexible learning pathways, students will be given a opportunity to complete course work in the degree program in class during the day, during the evening, or on the weekend or online, which is considered to be "blended" learning. International Applicants: NAIT is pleased to have a diverse community of students from all over the world. The mix of Canadian and international students greatly enhances the cultural richness of student life on campus, inside and outside the classroom. Applicants are required to present official documentation to the Registrar's Office to be considered for admission. NAIT has trained staff who work with the International Qualifications Assessment Service of Alberta Advanced Education and Technology to assess prior educational credentials of applicants. The service assesses international educational documents, compares them to Canadian educational credentials and then determines the academic level of entrance eligibility of the applicant. Approved applicants must prepare a Career Investigation report and successfully complete an admissions interview. Selection into the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is competitive. English Language Requirements: As all NAIT students must possess an acceptable level of English language proficiency, applicants whose first and native language is not English, and who have not graduated from an Alberta senior secondary school with the required Grade 12 English prerequisites (English 30-1 or English 30-2) or their equivalent, will be required to demonstrate their competence through one of the following: a) 75% or higher in all four areas of NAIT's English assessment test. Students can challenge the entrance exam on campus and at various times throughout the year. OR b) TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): iBT score of 80 with no individual test component score of less than 20. If students are taking the paper-based test, they must score a minimum of 550. Those using the computer-based test must score a minimum of 213. OR c) IELTS (International English Language Testing System): Overall score of 6.5 with no section less than 5.0. OR d) CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language Assessment): Score of 70. OR e) MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery): Score of 85. OR f) University of Alberta ESL 140/145: Successful completion. Graduate Information: Post Graduation- The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program is designed so that graduates meet the entrance requirements of a range of business related graduate programs and professional designations, including CA, CGA, CMA, CFP, CSC, CHRP.
