32 Week (plus 8 weeks Work Experience) Certificate of Achievement (Students who have successfully completed the program will be granted full credit for periods one, two, three and four of formal training, the apprenticeship examinations for those periods and 300 hours of time credit for on-the-job training component of an apprenticeship in the Marine branch of the OPET trade)

What you need to get in to the Marine Service Technician at Northern Alberta Institute of Technology?
Applicants must have successfully completed: Grade 10 Math; Grade 10 English or equivalent. Include your official transcripts of secondary and any post-secondary education with your application. "Mature student" status is available if you've been out of school for at least one year, but admission is not automatic. If you are seeking to apply under mature student status, you must submit a letter outlining your education, experience and reasons for seeking mature student admission to the program. Students are required to read and interpret technical service manuals and manipulate trade-related math. An introduction to basic oxy-acetylene welding, parts and computers is part of the program. Non-academic Requirements: valid driver's licence (recommended); basic knowledge of computers; binder; coveralls or shop smock; safety glasses for lab activities.
