How long is the Health Promotion Studies at University of Alberta?
MPH (course based); MSc (thesis based); Postgraduate Diploma. Students may undertake the MPH (course-based) on a part-time or full-time basis. All degree requirements must be completed within six years. Students may undertake the M.Sc. (thesis-based) on a part-time or full-time basis. All degree requirements must be completed within four years. Students may undertake the post-graduate Diploma program on a part-time or full-time basis. All Diploma requirements must be completed within four years.

What you need to get in to the Health Promotion Studies at University of Alberta?
The graudate programs in Health Promotion Studies are designed to build on the existing professional/discipline base of degree holders in health sciences or health related fields. Minimum admission requirements are those set out as minimum acceptable standards by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research. These include a minimum of a four year undergraduate degree in a health-related field with a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4 point scale over the last 60 credits and at least one year of relevant experience in a health-related field. Applicants are required to provide a current curriculum vitae; three letters of reference (at least one of which is from an academic source); official transcripts of all postsecondary education completed; and a letter of intent signed by the applicant indicating the program route (course-based or thesis-based), which provides a summary of the applicant's background (academic and work experience), how this pertains to health promotion studies, goals, areas of interest and/or ideas for a possible thesis topic. Admission will be based on the Admissions Committee's assessment of the following factors: academic record, accomplishments and related experience, letter of intent, awards and other evidence of scholarly achievement and letters of reference. The Centre's supervisory capability, instructional resources, the number of students already in the program, and availability of financial support will also be taken into account.
