How long is the Library and Information Studies at University of Alberta?
MLIS (course based or thesis based); MA (Humanties Computing)/MLIS; full-time student who is registered for the M.L.I.S. program normally will be able to complete the degree requirements in two years. Candidates in the course based route must complete requirements within six years. Candidates in the thesis based route must complete requirements within four years. A full-time student who is registered for the joint M.A./M.L.I.S. degree normally will be able to complete the degree requirements in three years.

What you need to get in to the Library and Information Studies at University of Alberta?
For M.L.I.S.: An applicant with a four-year undergraduate degree from the University of Alberta, or a comparable degree from another accredited university, who has obtained a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (or its equivalent) in the last 20 half-courses of academic studies may be admitted as a candidate for the M.L.I.S. degree. Applicants who lack these qualifications are advised to make up any deficiency in consultation with the School of Library and Information Studies in order to be considered for admission as a candidate for the M.L.I.S.
