What you need to get in to the Trades Readiness at Portage College?
Program Description: The Trades Readiness Certificate program is designed for students who wish to enter an apprenticeable trade but do not have the required mathematics, science, and/or communication skills. The program provides students with the opportunity to learn and review skills in science, mathematics and English (Communications) at the 7.0- 9.9 grade equivalent level. Students will also be provided with an insight to the culture of working in the trades. The program covers topics designed to provide direction for personal and professional growth. In addition, students will be provided with specific, certifiable safety training. Entrance Requirements: Entrance assessment (Canadian Adult Achievement Test B), high school transcript (if applicable), interview, written composition. Career Potential: Leading to a career in an apprenticeable trade.
