How long is the Educational Assistant Certificate at University of Calgary?
This part-time program consists of nine core courses, with 39 hours of Practicum per course, three elective courses, and a program portfolio. The courses can be completed in any sequence. Employed TAs/EAs must register to receive 39 hours of Workplace Learning per course.

What you need to get in to the Educational Assistant Certificate at University of Calgary?
There are no formal educational requirements for the Educational Assistant Certificate program, although successful completion of Grade 12 is the recommended minimum. Employment or previous experience as an educational assistant is an asset. If you are not employed as an educational assistant, a minimum of 50 hours of volunteer work in a Canadian school is required for admission. Your application for admission must include a letter of recommendation/support from a principal or cooperating teacher. What type of learning environment should I expect in the Educational Assistant Certificate?
Teleconference Delivery - When courses are delivered by teleconferencing there is a possibility that participants could participate at their school side or join a group at another school site. Face-to-Face - classes are offered currently within the city of Calgary at pre-determined school sites. Face-to-face classes are provided in collaboration with local school districts.
