What you need to get in to the Dental Assisting (Independent Study) at Northern Alberta Institute of Technology?
Term I - Employment in a dental office for a minimum of 14 hours per week. Term II - Successful completion of Term I and employment in a dental office for a minimum of 14 hours per week. Practical Evaluation - Successful completion of Term I and Term II. It is strongly recommended that students have a current Standard First Aid Level C-CPR Certificate. Intra-Oral Courses - Proof of educational requirement to proceed into comprehensive patient care procedures. Some courses have additional prerequisites. Preference will be given to graduates of the DAISP and to Alberta residents holding these prerequisites. Contact (780) 471-8761 for the application package. It is recommended that necessary documentation be submitted for approval no earlier than three months prior to the program start date. Applications will be accepted up to and including the 15th of the month prior to the start date. All applicants are encouraged to obtain a high school diploma as some employers may still require a high school diploma. Applicants with a credential in another NAIT Health Science Program may be given some preference in the selection process.
