What you need to get in to the Medical Laboratory Science at University of Alberta?
Minimum 30 credits required. It is recommended that students have the following Grade 12 subjects in order to complete the prerequisites: English Language Arts 30-1; Biology 30; Chemistry 30; Pure Mathematics 30. Pre-requisites consist of courses in English, Chemistry (General and Organic), Cell Biology, Genetics, Biology or Zoology, and an option. Additional requirements include a Letter of intent indicating your career goals, knowledge of the profession, related experience and reasons for seeking admission to the B.Sc. MLS program. Selection Criteria: A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required in pre-professional course work. The selection process is competitive, and applicants will be ranked according to the GPA in the required pre-professional courses. Preference will be given to those students who have completed the required 30 credits in one academic year. A test of spoken English and bloodbourne pathogen testing is also required.
