New students are accepted into the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder program for the Fall (September) term, Winter (January), or Summer (May) terms. The entire program is offered through Distributed Learning. Academic Requirements: Applicants are required to have an Alberta High School Diploma or equivalent with credit in English Language Arts ELA 30-1or ELA 30-2. Applicants with a previous degree/diploma can be accepted into this program with Advanced Standing (eg: Child and Youth Care, Early Childhood Education, Nursing, Criminal Justice, Disability and Community Rehabilitation, Special Needs Educational Assistant, Education or Social Work). Credits from previous programs may receive advanced credit. Non-Academic Requirements: Applicants are advised they will be required to provide a Criminal record check before entering the first practicum course of the program.
