What you need to get in to the First Year Studies at Alberta College of Art and Design?
Admission to First Year Studies at the Alberta College of Art & Design is competitive and is based on an academic standing, demonstrated skills and commitment to undertake a rigorous program in visual arts or design. Admission decisions are based on an assessment of academic transcripts, a personal statement and a portfolio. All Applicants must satisfy minimum Academic and English Proficiency Requirements. Applicants are required to submit the following documents and materials: 1. Application Form (www.acad.ca) 2. Applications Fee 3. Academic Transcript(s) 4. Proof of English Language Proficiency (if applicable) 5. Personal Statement (unless otherwise indicated) 6. Portfolio (unless otherwise indicated) Admission Requirements: 1. Alberta high school diploma with a minimum average of 60% on four Grade 12 subjects, including either English 30 or English Language Arts 30-1 (minimum 60%) or English 33 or English Language Arts 30-2 (minimum 65%) 2. Mature Applicants who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents/landed immigrants who have not complete high school and are 21 years of age or older may be considered for admission as a Mature applicant providing that they possess the English 30 or 33 requirement.
