The #1 High School and University Resource for Alberta Students
Pre-Employment at Grande Prairie Regional College

What you need to get in to the Pre-Employment at Grande Prairie Regional College?
Grade 10 English and Math or their equivalent (General Mechanic Grade 11 English and Math). Official transcript required for secondary and any post-secondary education. Students who do not meet these requirements may write the Alberta and Industry Training (AIT) apprentice entrance exam. Please contact the Department for further information. Adult status is available if you have been out of school for at least one year, but admission is not automatic. GPRC recommends a letter outlining your education, experience and reasons for seeking admission to some programs. Students will be required to read and interpret technical service manuals, as well as manipulate trade related math. Due to the popularity of some pre-employment programs, adult status applicants will be admitted on a merit basis. Preference will be granted to those with previous experience, involvement in activities related to the field, and references regarding your achievements and potential in the industry. A letter of research into the industry may be helpful. An interview to confirm your suitability for some programs may be required.
